Displacement washing of filter cakes from porous particles

Filter cake washing is an appropriate method to remove mother liquor from filtered solids. The behavior of filter cakes consisting mesoporous and macroporous silica gel particles was investigated. Due the high porosity particles, about 50% contained in inner pores. As residual loading can be reduced 1% initial loading, pores are cleaned as well. Comparing results those non porous quartz does not show a distinct diffusion area proposed by literature so far. Therefore, calculations performed estimate time it takes potassium ions diffuse out simplified calculation formula suggested. Moreover, perfusion single particle during estimated.
